The Department of Anatomy has sent a delegation led by Asst. Prof. Poopol Padungchaichote, along with Dr. Sumon Jung-udomjaroen and Mr. Noppadol Intaratat, to conduct an academic observation at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. From the pictures below, the delegation received a warm welcome from the university staff, and received invaluable experience from the trip.
11th Asia-Pacific Microscopy Conference (APMC11)
2016 11th Asia-Pacific Microscopy Conference (APMC11), Phuket, Thailand, May 23 to 27, 2016 is being conducted under the auspices of the Council of Asia-Pacific Societies for Microscopy (CAPSM), the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM), the Microscopy Society of Thailand (MST), the Anatomy Association of Thailand (AAT) and the Departments of Anatomy, Faculties of Science and Medicine Siriraj, Mahidol University.
Our congratulations to Asst. Prof. Udomsri Chowpittapornchai on her receiving the "Best Civil Servant Award" for this year. This is the result of her tireless dedication towards the civil service and in education in general!
The Department of Anatomy is delighted and wishes to congratulated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vipavee on her receiving the prestigious award for "Best Instructor in Biomedical Sciences" from Srinakharinwirot University. The Departments further wishes her many more future achievements!
The Department of Anatomy would like to congratulate Prof. Dr. Pansiri Phansuwan on her receiving the "Best Alumni Award" from the Faculty of Graduate Studies of Mahidol University. We are delighted and proud for Ajarn Pansiri for her receiving yet another prestigious accolade!
The Royal Funeral Service was held on April 28th, 2016 at Wat Dan Temple Rama III Yanawa District Bangkok, along the Chao
Phraya riverside. With heartfelt remembrance, the medical students made an oath declaring:
"I swear to our respected "Cadaveric Instructors" that I will continue to seek knowledge from your ultimate dedication for the
benefit of the medical community and of public health as a whole. In addition, I solemnly swear to show my utmost respect and
care when studying your remains. If I have conducted myself disrespectfully or erroneously in anyway, may you bestow upon
me punishment, whilst awake or asleep, accordant to my misdeeds. Let it be so."
The students continued to pay their respects with the following:
"From the first day upon meeting our "Teacher", and as of today when we have placed your remains into your final vessels on
such an occasion; our bonds between "Teacher" and "Pupil" will forever remain in our hearts. We solemnly promise to uphold
your good intentions to not be in vain, and that each of us promise to utilize the knowledge obtained during our studies on your
remains for the benefit of the medical and public health community. Furthermore, from this knowledge we promise to do our best
in saving lives and providing the best care for those afflicted by illness. We wish our "Teachers" eternal peace and happiness in
heaven, and gaze below us as seeds of your great intentions; and from these sown seeds grow to become richly-branched trees
signifying the creation of successful physicians and dentists per your wishes. Not long from the flames will your remains become
ashes; but from these ashes will remain the precious memories and heartfelt bonds inside each of us for posterity."
